From the start it has always been people coming together that has made everything possible, and it's no different now!
Could you run a marathon? Have a bake-a-thon? Or host a Fundraising Tea Party to raise funds for Liberty Tea Rooms & Community Hub?
Send your thoughts HERE so we can work together with you!
See below a few of our past fundraising events!
Tim Ran the London Marathon!
In April 2019 Tim Boyall ran the London marathon and raised an incredible £1,000 for LTR!
Local family man and Iron Man competitor, Tim showed true grit and determination when he sustained a knee injury at around 16 miles.
Never one to give in, he continued to run the race and achieved the task he set before himself. Despite being in considerable pain, Tim persevered and completed the race with his friends and family cheering him on along the way!
The injury added an hour to his planned finishing time, which Tim felt was somewhat disappointing. However, we think he did an awesome job!
We are so grateful to Tim for running the Marathon for us and raising £1,000! A Massive THANK YOU on behalf of LTR!
3 Peaks Challenge
3 Peaks, 2 Men, 1 Week!
On Saturday 26th May 2018 Owen and Colin - along with Dave Bowles - set off together to complete a crazy adventure!
Their aim? To hike the 3 tallest peaks in Great Britain, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, AND to cycle the distance between them - all in one week!
In total they covered 900km on their bikes and hiked up a total of 52km (or 52,000 metres!)
All this to support Liberty Tea Rooms & Community Hub and specifically CAP (Christians Against Poverty), one of the services our Community Hub offer.
OVERALL THEY RAISED £3,000!!
All funds raised were shared between these two amazing organisations. Liberty Tea Rooms & Community Hub and CAP (Christians Against Poverty).
After completing the climb of Ben Nevis, Owen shared on BBC 3 Counties Radio:
"Every step I took was a reminder of the uphill struggle that people in debt are facing. We need funds to ensure that we remain as a place of help & hope in our community"
THANK YOU to everyone who has generously donated to support these incredible guys who just want to #TellPovertyOnYerBike
